Ellie Day Shines at Riverside Golf Club’s Garden Party 9-Hole Scramble

At Ellie Day, we believe that sports and style go hand in hand. Our recent participation as a team at the Riverside Golf Club Guest event perfectly encapsulated this philosophy. Held under the charming theme of a garden party, the event saw an incredible turnout of over 80 enthusiastic women, all dressed to impress and ready for a day of fun, fashion, and friendly competition.

A Day to Remember

The atmosphere at Riverside Golf Club was vibrant with laughter, camaraderie, and the beautiful backdrop of a meticulously decorated course. All the women brought more than their A-game; they brought their creative flair, making this event a truly unique experience.

Event Highlights and Competitions

1. Golf Competitions:

   • Front and Back Fairways: The scramble format ensured everyone had a great time, with prizes awarded for the best performances on both the front and back fairways, with multiple places acknowledged.
   • Closest to the Pin: Precision was key in this challenge, with participants aiming to land their ball closest to the pin.
   • Longest Drive: This competition showcased power and technique, with prizes for the longest drive of the day.
   • Group Putting: A great ice breaker for the day's event, this kept everyone busy during warm-up and breakfast.

2. Thematic Competitions:

   • Best Costume: Embracing the garden party theme, participants donned their most creative and stylish outfits. From floral prints to whimsical hats, the best costume competition was a visual delight.
   • Best Cart Decoration: Creativity knew no bounds as participants transformed their golf carts into rolling garden paradises, complete with flowers, ribbons, and other decorations.

3. Raffle Draws:

   • To keep the excitement going, the table luncheon included several raffle draws, giving everyone a chance to win fabulous prizes just for attending.

  

Cheat Sheet Ideas for Future Event Themes

1. Enchanted Forest:

   • Imagine twinkling fairy lights, woodland creatures, and magical vibes. Competitions for best enchanted outfit and most whimsical cart decoration.  This would be a great late summer season theme.

2. Fiesta Fun:

   • Bright colors, maracas, and sombreros. Competitions for best fiesta outfit and most festive cart.  This theme is a particularly great way to highlight outstanding food and drink options.  

3. Alma Matter Party:

   • Think of how great the trivia battle could be?  This accessible theme will have many participants dressing in their favorite school colors and merch. Competitions can include best team spirit and most creative use of team colors.

4. Monopoly:

   • The classic board game come to life with all the fierce competition it brings out. Incorporate all sorts of fun with themed holes, jail and bank working into the format of the day.  Competitions for best cart will take the pressure off the costumes. 

5. Costal Grandma Party:

   • Think about curating a classic design with dainty furniture, preppy palettes, fresh flower baskets, lots of airy linens, and rattan accented picnic setups.  Competitions for best vintage outfit and most old-fashioned charm picnic setup.

Additional Considerations Beyond Golf

1. Themed Snack/Drink Station:

   • Use all available spaces!  Half-way houses, drink carts, and locker rooms are great places to set the tone of the events.

2. Photo Scavenger Hunt:

   • Embrace the phones on the course, create a list of themed items for participants to find and photograph around the course and post on a group chat. Prizes for the most items found.

3. Fitness Challenges:

   • Incorporate mini fitness challenges at certain holes, such as quick yoga poses or short sprints....keep these on theme for style points.

4. Team Relay Races:

   • Set up fun relay races that teams can compete in before or after the golf scramble in the event of a tie...no one really wants a score card playoff.

5. Trivia Contest:

   • Hold a trivia contest during the event with questions related to golf, the event theme, or fun facts about participants.

Looking Ahead
